What is OEKO-TEX® certification?
The International Association for Research and Testing in the Field of Textile Ecology ( OEKO-TEX® ) is an association of 16 independent textile research institutes and testing laboratories located in Europe and Japan.

What is OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification ?
The OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certification is an independent control and certification system, with internationally harmonized verification criteria, scientifically based testing methodologies, company audits and supply chain traceability, which involves a global range of textile products: from raw materials to semi-finished products to finished products at every level of processing, including the ancillary materials used.
The current list of types, limits and requirements of the substances analyzed to achieve Oekotex certified padding cover:
- Specific legal regulations (e.g. azo dyes, formaldehyde, pentachlorophenol, cadmium nickel, etc.);
- Numerous chemical substances which, although not regulated by law and/or regulations, are, based on scientific findings, dangerous to health;

This system is expressed in the form of different levels or classes of certification, based on the end users to whom the product is intended and whether or not direct contact with the item occurs (younger age and greater direct contact with the skin = more stringent human/ecological requirements to be met):
- Class I: articles for babies and children up to 3 years;
- Class II: articles used in contact with the skin;
- Class III: articles not used in contact with the skin;
- Class IV: furnishing/decorative materials.
